Apr. 10, 2024 -- Solar Eclipse

April 4 - 9, 2024

This week we had two major events here in the ABM. Firstly, general conference! We got to watch it with some of our friends and new members and it was absolutely amazing. I especially loved Elder Kearon's talk about how God's entire purpose is to bring us safely home to Him. If you haven't watched it yet, and want some inspiration, I would highly recommend the Saturday Evening session! 

We also got to watch a Total Solar Eclipse! It's was a pretty big deal, and Bentonville was packed: musicians playing "total Eclipse of the Heart", storm troopers walking around, and tourists staring up at the sky. Its pretty crazy watching the moon, though it is so small in comparison, almost completely blocking our access to the sun. In a similar way, sometimes small things can get in the way of our access to the Son, Jesus Christ. I love this quote by Elder Stevenson:

"...be vigilant not to allow insignificant and inconsequential matters in life to obscure your eternal view of the great plan of happiness. In short, don’t let life’s distractions eclipse heaven’s light."

Heavens light will always be there! Sometimes we just need to shift our focus so we can better feel it. I hope you all enjoy some literal and figurative sunshine this week.

Har-Ber Springdale AR January 18th-24th, 2024 Hey!! I hope you are all having a wonderful week. We've kept busy here, so straight to the highlights! •     Parul really wants both of her kids to be baptized, but one of them doesn't need to be (we believe it is only necessary for those who are old enough and able to understand the commitment). We were worried she wouldn't let Wendy be baptized if Patrick couldn't, but it suddenly clicked for her that we aren't excluding him, he is simply whole and pure already😊 •     We knocked into our member Sandy's son, he wasn't super interested, but we mentioned it to her. She said she's felt prompted lately that she needs to tell her kids about the Book of Mormon and this helped confirm it!! Out with the Swamp Kittens -- Jan. 31, 2024

Har-Ber Springdale, AR Jan 25th - 31st, 2024 Another great week here in Springdale! I've been working with Parul and her family pretty much since starting and they have come so far. This week they sat in first hour of church (sacrament meeting) for the first time! That was a big steppingstone, Parul has been so worried about it knowing how crazy her kinds can be. It went wonderfully and everyone had a great experience. Wendy is on track to be baptized on the 17th!! Highlights! •     Hit 6 months today!!🎉 •     Saw a live possum "swamp kitty" crossing the street •     We had records of someone the missionaries had visited and had a pretty bad interaction with. He was upset they hadn't come in so long... but because he was so upset no one had come back in another 2 years. Sister Morton felt we should do something so we settled on leaving a note and number.
