Oct. 4, 2023 -- Elder Bednar pt.3!

Hello from Har-Ber!!
I don't have much time, but wow this week was filled with miracles!! The Lord is so involved in this work and has been preparing souls to come to Him!
Misty!!
"I'm trying to listen to Jesus, eat my sucker, and do nails at the same time. What could be better than this?"
If you remember our friend Misty, she dropped us a while ago and even returned the Book of Mormon - so it was really unexpected when she texted us saying she wanted to come to church again on Sunday! She found a ride last minute and we were able to watch the Sunday afternoon session of Conference with her at a members home. The first half she slept like a rock 😂 But then she really started getting into it. She wrote notes, and verbally agreed with a lot of their words, she started getting more and more involved and excited. Nothing made me happier than her turning to me and saying "I AM a child of God"  And then at the very end when President Nelson started talking our friends Reagen and Kenneth showed up! As we listened together Misty and Kenneth asked what "think celestial" meant and Reagen gave the most beautiful answer and testimony. It was so inspiring to see our investigating friends grow and even teach each other❤️ And then to top it off, Misty stood up and told us that she was trying some different churches to find out what was right, and that this was where she belonged!! 
Tuesday night was also amazing. Amanda and Christian recently decided that they want to prepare for baptism, and we were going over some of the hardest commandments for them and their situation. As nervous and imperfect as we were, the Spirit was there and really did all of the teaching. The logistics they were facing didn't really matter, it was a decision between them and God and it was clear that he would help them every step if they wanted to keep those commandments and be baptized. We were able to feel promptings of what to say and Amanda was able to answer a lot of her own questions. It was so cool to see their faith and feel the presence of the Spirit. Please pray for them!
Highlights!
-      Maybe General Conference just hits different as a missionary, but it was so powerful!! Dallin H Oaks gave my favorite talk, as well as Eyring and Bednar. I learned so much and had so many questions answered! If you didn't get the chance I would encourage you to watch and rewatch the words of the Prophet and apostles!
-     Our friend Edna called and asked us to come help her comfort a friend. It was such a cool experience feeling a fraction of the love God has for her. As we prayed together she felt a warmth come over her that she said was the best feeling she has ever felt. God loves his children so much:)
-      We have been preparing two kids for baptism that are so much fun! We did 10 commandments on your fingers for our lesson. If any of you missionaries have good object lessons ideas to help them have fun while staying focused I would love some suggestions!

Har-Ber Springdale, AR 1/04/24 - 1/10/24 Highlights! •     Finally finished talking Plan of Salvation with Donna after 3 long lessons! She is so involved and goes in deep. Har-Ber Springdale AR January 18th-24th, 2024 Hey!! I hope you are all having a wonderful week. We've kept busy here, so straight to the highlights! •     Parul really wants both of her kids to be baptized, but one of them doesn't need to be (we believe it is only necessary for those who are old enough and able to understand the commitment). We were worried she wouldn't let Wendy be baptized if Patrick couldn't, but it suddenly clicked for her that we aren't excluding him, he is simply whole and pure already😊 •     We knocked into our member Sandy's son, he wasn't super interested, but we mentioned it to her. She said she's felt prompted lately that she needs to tell her kids about the Book of Mormon and this helped confirm it!! Out with the Swamp Kittens -- Jan. 31, 2024

Har-Ber Springdale, AR Jan 25th - 31st, 2024 Another great week here in Springdale! I've been working with Parul and her family pretty much since starting and they have come so far. This week they sat in first hour of church (sacrament meeting) for the first time! That was a big steppingstone, Parul has been so worried about it knowing how crazy her kinds can be. It went wonderfully and everyone had a great experience. Wendy is on track to be baptized on the 17th!! Highlights! •     Hit 6 months today!!🎉 •     Saw a live possum "swamp kitty" crossing the street •     We had records of someone the missionaries had visited and had a pretty bad interaction with. He was upset they hadn't come in so long... but because he was so upset no one had come back in another 2 years. Sister Morton felt we should do something so we settled on leaving a note and number.
