Aug. 21, 2023--MTC Veterans

Hello!! I'm in the MTC home stretch; 3 more days until Arkansas! This week was full of unforgettable experiences, it's going to be so hard to leave behind my district but I'm excited for what we all have ahead of us :)  This week my district had the wonderful opportunity of welcoming incoming missionaries! We were stationed in overflow parking so we got to watch the missionaries get dropped off by their families. It was weird thinking that was me just last week - and now I'm the veteran showing them around. Watching the farewells range from crying to cheering was such a sweet experience. Reminded me of the quote by Doctor Suess: "The pain of parting is nothing to the joy of meeting again" Last week we were given false hope when the MTC president said that we were about to hear from Elder Bednar... and then he laughed and pulled up a video talk. But lo and behold guess who showed up at the devotional Tuesday night!! It was so cool to hear from one of the apostl...

Hello from Provo!!  On Wednesday my family dropped me off at the Provo MTC. Being here has felt a little surreal but so incredible! Here at the MTC the days are slow but time flies! It was so cool to meet my district and companion in person. Us being placed together is no coincidence and I have laughed with, cried with, and learned so much from every one of them. On the first night we had an amazing devotional called Character of Christ. It was about how Christ always focused outside of himself. He always put the needs of others before His own. I'm so glad that was one of our first devotionals because trying to apply it has helped me so much here. I've stopped worrying so much about how tired I am, alone time I wish I had, how I look, how hard teaching is - and started serving with joy and purpose by looking outside of myself. It's made this such a happier and easier experience! Highlights: - The Elders are crazy about Cactus Cooler soda and have been making a tower of them...

Aug. 7, 2023--Talk Shows and Camels

Hello! Here in Logan there is a lot of wildlife: wild frogs and snipes, wild horses and cows, wild buffalo and camels. Okay... maybe not all wild but I did see camels in one of the neighborhood pastures! It is such a beautiful area to be doing my home MTC. This might be the most cliche missionary email, but what a wonderful week!! Even online, MTC has been such a powerful experience. I have felt Jesus Christ guiding my life and have grown so much over the past week. Monday night I met my district, and we have had classes and devotionals together all week. I couldn't be happier about my district family, they are all such wonderful examples to me and so much fun to be around. My district consists of Sister Larson, Sister Rice, Sister Johnson, Elder Blake, Elder Hacking, Elder Winn, Elder Binggeli, Elder Frank, Elder Taylor, Elder Montgomery, and Elder Gold -I'm sure you won't remember those names but this way I can look back myself :). I can't wait to meet them in person ...
