Aug. 21, 2023--MTC Veterans

Hello!!

I'm in the MTC home stretch; 3 more days until Arkansas! This week was full of unforgettable experiences, it's going to be so hard to leave behind my district but I'm excited for what we all have ahead of us :)

This week my district had the wonderful opportunity of welcoming incoming missionaries! We were stationed in overflow parking so we got to watch the missionaries get dropped off by their families. It was weird thinking that was me just last week - and now I'm the veteran showing them around. Watching the farewells range from crying to cheering was such a sweet experience. Reminded me of the quote by Doctor Suess: "The pain of parting is nothing to the joy of meeting again"

Last week we were given false hope when the MTC president said that we were about to hear from Elder Bednar... and then he laughed and pulled up a video talk. But lo and behold guess who showed up at the devotional Tuesday night!! It was so cool to hear from one of the apostles and sing in the MTC choir.

Highlights!
- I've spent a lot of time with the Sisters this week. We have the best discussions and karaoke sessions in the dinner line. Love them so much!
- I think I've laughed more this week than ever before. My district has the funniest conversations and inside jokes, combined with the most contagious laughter😂
- We got to go watch temple Sealings as a district! We've gone to the temple 5 times so far <3
- We had two more teaching appointments this week. It's hard to drop plans and follow the spirit, but we are getting better!
- Good times playing volleyball with the district on P-days and yoga lessons with Sister Larson.
- Lots of great music experiences from our Elders trying to sing "Sisters In Zion" to an instrumental If You Could High to Kolob to everyone at the MTC standing for the EFY medley. So cool :)

This week we have focused a lot on the Atonement of Jesus Christ. I love this verse in Alma 7:11: "And he shall go forth, suffering pains and afflictions and temptations of every kind; and this that the words might be fulfilled which saith he will take upon him the pains and the sicknesses of his people" Christ loves us so much that even if you were the only person on the earth, he would have suffered it all just for you. I'm so grateful for Him!!

Love and Mizpah (Gen.39:41)
