Feb 29- Mar 6WYATT IS GETTING BAPTIZED THIS SATURDAY!! 🎉 It has been a roller coaster but he is so ready.
There's no way to accurately describe Wyatt on paper, but what a character. From bringing gifts to every member dinner (most recently a sack of flour) to wanting to become an apostle, to proclaiming he is going to marry a "mormon". We love this guy!
Wyatt started turning his life to God in 2020, quit drinking and started going to a church. A few months ago his friend gave him tickets to see a radio show host and member of our church in SLC. Being a spontaneous guy he drove all the way down and loved it! That spiked his curiosity about our church, and not long after, the missionaries just happened upon his door! (in a place they would normally never knock)
When they came back to follow up a few days later, he stepped outside and his dog locked him out... No keys, no phone, no shoes. And mind you this is -4° weather😅 So he was stuck with the missionaries and they stuck with him, donating a scarf as his feet turned blue and making calls to get him inside.
Anyways after all that he decided to come with them to church😂 And when they gave him a Book of Mormon he prayed telling God he would throw it away if he didn't want him to read it - and he still has his copy:) We have been meeting with him since! The members love him and he loves the Gospel. He is so excited about the commandments and the temple and everything else!
With his excitement about baptism and the threat of leaving to join Homeland Security on the 11th (thankfully the process will take longer than he thought, so we get to keep him) we made it official and are hastening to throw together a baptism!
Quick thought before I wrap it up:
2 Nephi 31:17...For the gate by which ye should enter is repentance and baptism by water; and then cometh a remission of your sins by fire and by the Holy Ghost.
18 And then are ye in this strait and narrow path which leads to eternal life;
I love what one of our members said about that path mentioned above. As opposed to a wide open path, easy to find and follow the crowd, maybe the path - the one Wyatt is journeying on and the one we each follow - maybe it is strait and narrow because it is individual♡
Love and Mizpah!
