Dec. 6, 2023 -- Sunday at Sam's
Har-Ber, Springdale AR
11/23-12/6
Good morning!! Apologies for last week, accidentally deleted my email right before 6😂 It has been a great two weeks, I am loving being a missionary during the Christmas season!! We have been able to share Light the World videos with so many people. Everyone is in the spirit of Christmas, and amidst the busy holiday season so many of them will take time for Christ<3
Highlights!
• Got to go help a sweet sister in our ward decorate her Christmas tree! As soon as she found out we didn't have plans she invited us over for Christmas💕
• Me commenting on a steep dirt road: "Wow, I can't imagine living here in the winter" Companion: "this IS the winter"🥲
• Reagen came along to a lesson with our friend Savanna and it was so powerful!! She has so much enthusiasm for the gospel and sharing it. She doesn't know everything but was so excited to share her testimony of what she does know. Speaking of Reagen... she and Kenneth have a date to get married!! It isn't until March but we are so excited for themXD
• Edna and Misty are back!! They both went off grid for a couple of weeks and we were so worried. Edna is out of the hospital and we are helping her get a blessing this week. For so long we tried everything to get ahold of Misty, including asking her coworkers and visiting her brother's house. Then this morning she called us and we are going to see her today!! So grateful she is back in our lives.
• We did something I never would have dreamed of doing on a Sunday... went to Sam's club😳 But let me tell you, there is no place I would have rather been. One of our members had the most incredible experience meeting this guy who works and lives at Sams -who she described as both very unsafe and very frightened. Of all things, she felt prompted to ask him about God and give him a hug which was just what he had prayed for. On Sunday, we went to meet him with Sister Jones but got there just as he needed to clock in- so we searched the store until we found him. He is so excited to learn how to talk to God and read the Book of Mormon. Such a cool experience meeting him and watching him skip away to work.
Something I have really been able to experience as a missionary is God's love for his children. And when we are filled with his love our hearts don't overflow or fill to a limit - they expand. I've come to love countless people as I've met and served as a missionary, and it in no way diminishes the love for those that I've left behind. This week don't be afraid to open up and love those around you, there are so many wonderful people just waiting to be found.
Mosiah 18:21 "...having their hearts knit together in unity and in love one towards another."
Love and Mizpah,
Sister Harris❤️
