Sept. 13, 2023 -- Go Hogs!!
Hello from Har-Ber!
Arkansas school spirit is unmatched. Nearly every house we go to has some form of University of Arkansas decor on their porch - from statues to doormats to giant light up hogs. This Saturday we don't expect to meet with many people, because just about everyone is going to their game against BYU ๐(rumor has it that even Elder Bednar will be there, though no one is sure which team he will be rooting for).
This week I had the opportunity to meet so many wonderful people! There are so many different denominations here, which means a lot of people reject us as missionaries - but also a lot of people know and love Jesus Christ and are so happy to talk about Him! I wish I could include all of those experiences and people, I've learned so much from them.
Highlights!
- We had the chance to meet with Cathy again, she is so willing to learn and wants to be baptized!
- We got to meet in person as a zone, which was so powerful! My favorite part was Sister Collins' testimony on the Living Christ.
- We've been teaching this Swahili family who don't speak any English. We use google translate and called in a Swahili Elder from NY to do the lesson. It was a little crazy sitting there listening to a lesson in another language while watching a bunch of kids running around with baby shark playing on loop in the background. So cool though!
- My sister Mette got baptized this week!! I love her so much and am so excited for her๐
D&C 84:88 "And whoso receiveth you, there I will be also, for I will go before your face. I will be on your right hand and on your left, and my Spirit shall be in your hearts, and mine angels round about you, to bear you up."
