Aug. 30, 2023 -- Prayin' w/ Pastors

Hello from Springdale!!

What a crazy week! We had a final few days of MTC where I had to say goodbye to my district family. They are such an inspiration to me and are going to do amazing things (love and miss you all, good luck out there!) Shoutout to my comp, Sister Larson - I couldn't have asked for anyone better, we had such a good time and learned so much together XD

On Thursday we took two flights to AR where we met President and Sister Collins, and got our assignments - I'm assigned to Har-Ber in Springdale AR! My comp is Sister Anderson, she has only been out for one transfer but is an amazing trainer. So excited to be with her! From then on out we've been knocking doors and teaching the gospel. It's great to be a missionary!

Highlights!
- We had such a cool testimony meeting with my MTC district.
- AR is wonderful! At first glance it was just a very humid UT haha but when we drive to the edges of the area it is so beautiful and green!!
- Southern hospitality is in full force with the members, we've had meals with a couple of them and they are so welcoming and have such cool stories.
- Our friend Misty came to church and was so excited about it!
- We had a Bible study with two Baptists (one of which is a pastor) which was really interesting. Also met a pastor knocking doors who was so welcoming and friendly, it's good to meet people of different faiths who see that we are on the same team. We shared a message with him and then held hands in a prayer he offered for us.
- Met Cathy who is so ready for the Gospel!! She already has such a strong testimony of Jesus Christ and was excited to read from the Book of Mormon and learn more. 
- Apparently there is a really big Marshallese population here, and they have all been so friendly! We met a couple of guys out smoking and answered their questions about the Plan of Salvation which was cool.
- Out knocking doors and saw FIREFLIES!! I was so excited, they are so magical!!

One of my favorite verses to share is Alma 26: 37 "Now my brethren, we see that God is mindful of every people, whatsoever land they may be in; yea, he numbereth his people, and his bowels of mercy are over all the earth. Now this is my joy, and my great thanksgiving; yea, and I will give thanks unto my God forever. Amen." Miracles happen all of the time out here, I'm coming to learn for myself that God really is aware of every one of His children. He knows exactly where they are at and what they are going through. I'm so grateful for God's love for each of us!!

Har-Ber Springdale, AR 1/04/24 - 1/10/24 Highlights! •     Finally finished talking Plan of Salvation with Donna after 3 long lessons! She is so involved and goes in deep. We were pleasantly surprised at how all of this new information felt so familiar to her! •     We had someone read almost the entire Book of Mormon between visits! On the Lord's Errand -- Jan. 24, 2024

Har-Ber Springdale AR January 18th-24th, 2024 Hey!! I hope you are all having a wonderful week. We've kept busy here, so straight to the highlights! •     Parul really wants both of her kids to be baptized, but one of them doesn't need to be (we believe it is only necessary for those who are old enough and able to understand the commitment). We were worried she wouldn't let Wendy be baptized if Patrick couldn't, but it suddenly clicked for her that we aren't excluding him, he is simply whole and pure already😊 •     We knocked into our member Sandy's son, he wasn't super interested, but we mentioned it to her. She said she's felt prompted lately that she needs to tell her kids about the Book of Mormon and this helped confirm it!! Out with the Swamp Kittens -- Jan. 31, 2024

Har-Ber Springdale, AR Jan 25th - 31st, 2024 Another great week here in Springdale! I've been working with Parul and her family pretty much since starting and they have come so far. This week they sat in first hour of church (sacrament meeting) for the first time! That was a big steppingstone, Parul has been so worried about it knowing how crazy her kinds can be. It went wonderfully and everyone had a great experience. Wendy is on track to be baptized on the 17th!! Highlights! •     Hit 6 months today!!🎉 •     Saw a live possum "swamp kitty" crossing the street •     We had records of someone the missionaries had visited and had a pretty bad interaction with. He was upset they hadn't come in so long... but because he was so upset no one had come back in another 2 years. Sister Morton felt we should do something so we settled on leaving a note and number.
