Nov. 20, 2024 -- Someone Call the Prophet
Salem, MO
Nov 14 - 20, 2024
Transfer news!! This is a WILD one. After just two transfers here in Salem, we are both leaving and they are bringing Elders back. I'm going to miss this place so much!! Might be my favorite place on earth🥹🩷 I'm so so sad to leave but feel like we made a difference and left this area better than we found it. I feel so blessed to have served here with my amazing companion Sister Brinkerhoff (who is leaving to teach on military base!), and can't wait to train another new missionary in Springfield YSA!!
Highlights!
• While we didn't get to see her baptized while we were here, we had the INCREDIBLE experience of taking Lisa TO a baptism! She absolutely loved it and it renewed her excitement to be baptized and continue meeting and feeling the spirit! And what's even better is her son Logan came!! He has been very hesitant and stopped joining our lessons, but after the baptism he joined in again and even pulled out his Book of Mormon. The spirit touched them and I'm so grateful💕
• Merry Christmas!!!🎄 Sister Morton had us over for an early Christmas, just in case we got transferred (though she promised to call the Prophet to keep that from happening😂) It was the sweetest thing ever. We decorated a Christmas tree, shared stories, and even opened gifts. It was a Christmas never to be forgotten!
Things I'll miss about Salem...
• Sister Brinkerhoff!! She came in with so much faith and she is such an incredible teacher and spiritual giant. I'm going to miss our laughter, knowing looks, and sweet treats. So excited for her!!🥰
• Shepherds Nook! Every week we volunteer with the kindest people ever at the local food pantry, and it gets me through. I'm going to miss following Terry around as he sprints and dances to the next job.
• I don't know what in going to do without seeing the Wilsons every week!! They are my favorite people ever.
• Jo, Lisa, and Jason are some of the most incredible people I've met, and I'm so excited to hear about their journeys and baptisms!!
• Our tiny little Salem branch is filled with the most incredible people. I don't think I'll find anything else like it in all the world. I sure love them!!
Goodness this is a long email. Miss you all and wish you the best week!!
"... and I will order all things for your good, as fast as ye are able to receive them."
