Oct. 18, 2023 -- Oncoming Traffic
Live from Har-ber!
This week has been so busy, there just isn't enough time in a day! We have met a lot of amazing people and finally experienced some cold weather. I hope you are all doing well and enjoying the start of this holiday season!
Highlights!
• Finally got to see my MTC comp Sister Larson again at a training! 😆
• Misty practically invited herself to be baptized!! She still has a lot to work through but is so ready and willing to take those steps. Please pray for her!
• Ever since I started my mission, our sweet friend and new member Debbie has called us almost every morning and night. Love having her around<3
• A while back we met a guy named Josh. He was very drunk and after talking with us left to "drink [his] sorrows away." after getting his phone number to stay in touch we watched him cross the busy street - and watched his phone slide out of his pocket into the middle of it. After a failed attempt at maneuvering to a place where we could retrieve his phone we anxiously watched as his phone was straddled and flipped by cars in the busy street🤣 He crossed the street again and we yelled out to him about the phone. Nonchalantly he wandered over to pick it up as we yelled warnings about oncoming traffic. So much for keeping in touch...
(Or so we thought) The next week we saw him out walking, juggling fruit from a nearby tree. We parked and ran to catch up to him, having a good conversation and getting an address and number to contact. Funny situation and 'coincidence', stay tuned and we will see if this goes anywhere!
• Saw a possum (passed away sadly) and a coyote/wolf/scraggly neighborhood dog
• Exchanges with Hermana Fleming! Always such a wonderful experience going out to serve with another missionary for the day. We were led to some pretty amazing people.
This week I have been fascinated studying the Plan of Salvation and incredible extent of God's creations throughout the universe. Try as I might I can't even begin to comprehend the magnitude of his plan and his creations. And yet, amidst endless generations, worlds, and beings - at the heart of the plan it is so simple and so personal. I can tell you with my whole heart that I know God has room for you. While it seems completely impossible that such a powerful and universal being could be aware of you it is completely possible to Him and an absolute reality. He cares about every single trial and triumph of your life. He knows you and He loves you. You are His child.
"The same God who created mountains and oceans looked at you and thought, the world needs one of you"
Love and Mizpah ❤️
